Description:
Corporal Paul Holtsclaw, born in Statesville, North Carolina, joined the Marines in 1943 after two years at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College at Greensboro, North Carolina and a year of teaching at the Palmer Memorial Institute in Sedalia, North Carolina. He served with an ammunition company in Hawaii and several of the occupied Pacific islands. Discharged in 1946, he worked with the United States Signal Corps, then taught in the Baltimore, Maryland school system, retiring in 1993. He resides in Owings Mills, Maryland.
