Description:

Clayton Christensen was drafted into the U.S. Army in March of 1942. He completed basic training at Camp Maxey in Texas, where he also received four weeks of ranger training. Afterwards, he was assigned to 13 weeks of signal corp school in Forth Monmouth, New Jersey, during which he became an intermediate speed radio operator.

Upon returning to Camp Maxey, Christensen achieved the rank of sergeant and was assigned to the 99th infantry division. He embarked for Europe from Camp Miles Standish in 1944, subsequently fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He received his discharge in April of 1946 at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
